Assisting Foreign Attorneys with Fact-Finding and Legal Support in Ukraine
Lions Lawyers regularly assists foreign attorneys and international law firms in establishing legal facts that have taken place — or are currently taking place — within the jurisdiction of Ukraine. As Ukrainian-qualified lawyers, we are able to verify and document a wide range of legal circumstances that may be critical for foreign proceedings. This includes confirming ownership rights, corporate status, property regimes, court records, service of process, and other evidentiary matters required by overseas courts or counsel.
Recent Case Experience
Our most recent engagement involved supporting U.S. attorneys in an ongoing legal dispute currently being heard before courts in the United States.
The client required formal confirmation of the ownership regime and usage rights relating to certain real estate located in Ukraine. In addition, we were instructed to arrange the delivery (service) of court documents to a recipient residing at a registered address in Ukraine.
To fulfil these instructions, we developed and executed a structured action plan which included:
Visiting multiple physical locations in Kyiv
Verifying property and registration data
Documenting factual and legal circumstances on the ground
Recording evidence in a format suitable for use in foreign proceedings
Service of Legal Documents
As part of the mandate, Lions Lawyers formally served legal documents on the recipient in Ukraine.
Following service, we issued an official legal statement (affidavit / certificate of service) confirming:
The identity of the recipient
The address of service
The method and date of delivery
Compliance with applicable Ukrainian procedural standards
Use of Evidence in U.S. Proceedings
All documentation prepared by our firm was subsequently submitted and successfully relied upon in U.S. court proceedings as supporting evidence.
Our cross-border litigation support ensures that foreign attorneys obtain reliable, admissible, and properly documented legal facts from Ukraine — reducing procedural risks and evidentiary challenges.
